The Kappa Phi Chapter was founded just over a decade ago by a group of men who were not satisfied with the status quo. These men were destined to excel in the four pillars that exemplify the True Pike: Scholarship, Leadership, Athletics, and Gentlemanly conduct. As a result of their desire to maximize their individual potentials, these men formed the Kappa Phi Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity on November 7, 1997. Today, due to consistent campus involvement, altruistic community service, individual member pursuits towards excellence, outstanding sorority relations, and a dominant athletics program, the Kappa Phi Chapter has established itself as the premiere fraternity at UCSD.
